The 2010 Copiapó mining accident occurred on 5 August 2010, when the San José copper-gold mine, near Copiapó, Chile, collapsed, leaving 33 men trapped deep below ground.[1][2] The miners survived underground for a record 69 to 70 days.[3] All 33 miners were rescued and brought to the surface on 13 October 2010, with the first miner emerging from the Fénix 2 rescue capsule at 00:10 CLDT on 13 October 2010 and the last miner emerging at 21:55 CLDT.
The San José Mine is about 45 kilometres (28 mi) north of Copiapó, in northern Chile. The miners were trapped at approximately 700 metres (2,300 ft) deep and about 5 kilometres (3 mi) from the mine entrance, following the twists and turns of the main entrance shaft. The mine had a history of instability that had led to previous accidents, including one death.[4]
The retrieval of the first miner, Florencio Ávalos, commenced on Tuesday, 12 October 2010 at 23:55 CLDT, with the rescue capsule Fénix 2 reaching the surface 16 minutes later.[5][6] By 21:55 CLDT on 13 October 2010, all 33 miners had been rescued, almost all in good medical condition, and expected to recover fully. A massive earthquake struck Haiti just before 5 p.m. on Jan. 12, about 10 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince, the country's capital. The quake was the worst in the region in more than 200 years, and as many as 50,000 people were feared dead.

The quake left the country in shambles, without electricity or phone service, tangling efforts to provide relief. Governments and private groups from Beijing to Grand Rapids pledged assistance, but two days after the quake only the barest trickle of aid had arrived.

The day after the quake, Haiti's president, René Préval, called the destruction "unimaginable.''

On Jan. 14, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said that "there will be tens of thousands of casualties - we don't have any exact numbers." She said that about three million people -- a third of the country's population -- had been affected.

The earthquake could be felt across the border in the Dominican Republic, on the eastern part of the island of Hispaniola. High-rise buildings in the capital, Santo Domingo, shook and sent people streaming down stairways into the streets, fearing that the tremor could intensify.

More than 30 significant aftershocks of a 4.5 magnitude or higher rattled Haiti through the night of the 12th and into the early morning, according to Amy Vaughan, a geophysicist with the United States Geological Survey.

Huge swaths of the capital, Port-au-Prince, lay in ruins, and thousands of people were feared dead in the rubble of government buildings, foreign aid offices and shantytowns. Schools, hospitals and a prison collapsed. Sixteen United Nations peacekeepers were killed and at least 140 United Nations workers were missing, including the chief of its mission, Hédi Annabi. The city's archbishop, Msgr. Joseph Serge Miot, was feared dead.

The poor who define this nation squatted in the streets, some hurt and bloody, many more without food and water, close to piles of covered corpses and rubble. Limbs protruded from disintegrated concrete, muffled cries emanated from deep inside the wrecks of buildings - many of them poorly constructed in the first place.

thats my newly bought cellphone motorola w230.. i just bought it using my paypal chuva.. haha.. after 48 yrs! it may be cheap 'coz it only cost 2k in php or 46 dollars something.. i thought i cannot use my paypal anymore 'coz im not a verify member yet, but after hundreds of studying and churva churva transactions, transfering.. finally!!!.. i got paid on my paypal 'coz im doing paid post.. with the help of ms. tey.. thankz a lot very much!!! ;)

the wooden bowl

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table.

But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about father," said the son. "I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor."

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl!

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometime he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?"

Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

November 16, 2008 Sunday @ 8pm

yes, I was there...

watching that concert is not actually planned.. and its because chris brown was there. i decided to go.. that night, i called up my bff and invited her to watch the concert. i thought she wouldnt come with me because i know she hates rihanna ;p but she joined me (and she was the one actually watching rihanna seriously! i dont know if she wants to do something to rihanna or what?! haha! lolz) nwei.. because the location is just one ride from our home.. we just go..

we thought the concert would not start at exactly 8pm, thats why we arrived there at 9.30pm, that is the time there is a fireworks display. and its because we dont have any ticket ;p we are contented watching on the wide screen located inside the venue area and can be seen outside.. haha!.. so we are watching outside with thousands of other people.. sadly, we cant see the stage and even their shadows because of that big wall or what do you call it a gate in the area..

30 minutes after the fireworks display.. the show started, at exactly 10pm.. rihanna came out and sings 13-15 of her songs.. its all her part.. she's really a beautiful and sexy black american gurl.. she dressed up all in black for the entire show.. i think she only changed 3-5 outfits.. the last song she sings was of course "umbrella/cinderella".. then chris brown appeared to sing with her.. ohhh.. theyre so sweet and cute together! ;p we thought that its chris brown's part was next.. but theyre thanking now their bands and dancers.. then the show ended at 11pm.. it lasted for about one hour.. the gates are being open and the people started to leave.. n0o0o0o!!! cannot be! borrow one from two! lolz ;p but where is chris brown's part?! i go to that concert because of chris brown! but then i just saw him perform for only 2 minutes!... haaayz.. then we decided to go home..

the next day, as i watched the news.. they featured that concert. that's the time that i found out that chris brown was the first one performed @ 8.30pm followed by rihanna @ 10pm!.. what?! n0o0o0o!! and its because we were there at 9.30pm it only means that the fireworks display indicated that chris brown's concert has ended and i thought its just getting started!!.. and it also means that we missed his part!!.. huhu!!. i hate those people who are with us watching the show for not telling that chris brown performed already!.. lolz but its okei, although im not one of rihanna's fan, i still enjoyed her concert.. we also enjoyed watching ang looking for a lot of cute guys around and passin' by in front of us! haha! lolz ;p

When i was a little girl, i used to play video games like playstation (that was the time when ps1 is the main or popular video games way back in year 1997.. haha! Am I t0o old?? lolz). I always beat my kuya's (big brother).. ohhh.. i missed that so much.. I'm addicted to play games such as tekken, need for speed, street fighter etc..

Now, as technology evolves, new video games has comeout.. Samples, playstation 02, playstation 03, nintendo, wii etc.. If you're looking for a complete guide in buying video games, browse in here.. A store that sells husbands has just opened in Ottawa where a woman may go to choose a husband from among many men. The store is comprised of 6 floors, and the men increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends the flights.

There is, however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back down except to exit the building.

So a woman goes to the shopping center to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

The woman reads the sign and says to herself, "Well, that's better than my last boyfriend, but I wonder what's further up?"

So up she goes.

An award should go to the Virgin Airlines gate attendant in Sydney some months ago for being smart and funny, while making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo.

A crowded Virgin flight was cancelled after Virgin's 767s had been withdrawn from service. A single attendant was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, ' I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS'.

The attendant replied, 'I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've got to help these people first, and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out.'
The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, 'DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?'

Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address microphone: 'May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please,' she began - her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal.
'We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS . If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Gate 14.'

With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the Virgin attendant, gritted his teeth and said, 'F... You!'
Without flinching, she smiled and said, ( I love this bit ).................

'I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too.'

something weirdo..

haayz.. itz been exactly one week since i last posted here on my blog.. i've been busy these past few days.. just wanna share something weirdo that happened only yesterday..

the first thing that happened is around 1.30 am in the house.. i was still awake 'coz i'm waiting for my brother and my couzin to come home.. here's the weirdo thing.. i went to the bathroom, but before i could enter through the door, i saw something moving and then suddenly it disappear.. it went through inside the bathroom.. when i open the lights and door.. i was shock when i saw a snake inside the bathroom!!! OMG! where the hell it came from?! it was quite big and long huh.. i pauses for about 3 seconds and then i ran away as fast as i can! haha! lolz i wake up my grams (lucky, she didnt freak out! ;p) because me and my grams are only in the house at that time.. i also wake up my aunt which lives right next to our house.. its my first time to encounter something like that, so i really had no idea on what to do.. i was so damn i let that snake let go.. because when we came back to the bathroom.. it was gone..

the next thing that happened is around 2-2.30 pm still in the house.. at that time, the rain started to fall.. it was a heavy rain.. the wind blows like so hard, it was like there is a twister or tornado thing.. i was on our garage watching the rains.. after a few minutes, i heard something weird on our garage roof.. it was like something is throwing a lot of little rocks on our roof.. and then i saw a little bits of rain falling.. its raining of ice!!! its kinda weirdo when you saw something like that when your here in the phils.. because as we know there are only two seasons here.. the rainy and summer season.. it sized is as little as corn bits.. it is actually my first time to saw something like that.. im about to capture it on my camera or video for proof but my cp's batt is empty.. :( haaayz.. sayang..
